
The Graduate Management Test is a pre-requisite for admission into majority of business schools in the US and Europe. GMAT measures the ability and skills during one’s schooling including persuasive writing and logical reasoning.The test provides a fair idea of a candidate’s analytical and verbal skills, both of which are necessary to perform well in a management program. The test lasts approximately three and half hours. You will have two half-hour essays that you’ll write first followed by a 5-minute break. Next, you’ll have a 75- minute quantitative section consisting of 37 questions followedby another 5-minute break. You’ll finish with a 75-minute verbal section consisting of 41 questions.
Format and Timing :
The GMAT consiste of 3 main parts:
1. Analytical Writing Assessment
2. The Quantitative Section and
3. The Verbal Section
Analytical Writing Assessment – The GMAT exam begins with the Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA). The AWA consists of two thirty-minute writing of tasksAnalysis of an issue and analysis of an argument.
Quantitative Section – This section contains 37 multiple-choice questions of two quesion types Data Sufficiency and Problem solving. You will be allowed a maximum of 75 minutes to complete the entire section.
Verbal Section – This section contains 41 multiple choice questions of three question types Reading Comphrension, Critical Reasoning and Sentence correction. You will be allowed a maximum of 75 minutes to complete the entire section.
