FTII Entrance Exam

FTII

Film and Television Institute of India, Pune is an autonomous institute under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Govt. of India. It conducts an Entrance Exam towards admission to its various courses in Film and Television.  FTII is a member of CILECT an international association of film schools.

Courses :

The courses of study currently available at the FTII are broadly divided into regular courses and short-term courses.  For more details of the short term courses please see the website.  The regular courses for which there is an entrance examination are as follows:

1. Three-year diploma course in Film and Television with specialization in Direction.
2. Three-year diploma course in Film and Television with specialization in Cinematography.
3. Three-year diploma course in Film and Television with specialization in Editing.
4. Three-year diploma course in Film and Television with specialization in Sound Recording & Sound Design.
5. One-year certificate course in Television with specialization in Direction.
6. One-year certificate course in Television with specialization in Electronic Cinematography.
7. One-year certificate course in Television with specialization in Video Editing.
8. One-year certificate course in Television with specialization in Sound Recording and Television Engineering.
9. Two-year post-graduate diploma in Acting.
10. Two-year post-graduate diploma in Art Direction and Production Design.
11. One-and-a-half year certificate course in Animation and Computer Graphics.
12. One year post-graduate certificate course in Feature Film Screenplay Writing.

Eligibility:

Except for the course on Animation and Computer Graphics the minimum qualification is a bachelor’s degree in any subject.  For the course on Animation and Computer Graphics the minimum qualification is “10+2”.  Additionally a student intending to apply for the course in Audiography must also have passed in Physics at the “10+2” level.

Important Dates:

FTII Entrance Exams are usually conducted in the month of May/ June. For the candidates successful at the level of the written test, interviews are likely to be held at the FTII campus in Pune some time in July. The new courses usually begin in the month of August 2009.
