Staff Selection Commission will hold on 15.11.2009, an open competitive examination for selecting candidates to the posts of Auditors and Accountants, a Group “C’ Non Gazetted, Ministerial posts located in North Eastern States, in the Pay Band-I of Rs.5200-20200 plus Grade Pay 2800 in the Offices of Indian Audit and Accounts Department (IAAD).

18-27years (As on 21.08.2009)

Relaxation for SC/ST/OBC, ExS etc:-

The age concession in the upper age limit for SC/STs is 5 years, for OBCs it is 3 years and for physically handicapped candidates it is 10 years. For widows, divorced women and judicially separated women, the age limit is 35 years for UR category; 40 years for SC/ST women and 38 years for OBC women.

Educational Qualification:

Graduation(Bachelor’s Degree) in any stream from a recognised university/equivalent.

How to Apply:

The application must be submitted in the Application Format given in Annenxure-I neatly typed or printed on A-4 Size white paper in double space and typed on only one side of the paper. (Use ball-point pen only).

The application must be filled up by the candidate in his/her own handwriting.

Candidates should put their signature in running script (and not in Capital or BLOCK letters) in the box provided for signature under the space for pasting photograph (S.No. 15 of Application Form) and Declaration(s) at the end of the Application Form, as application, failing which the application will be summarily rejected by the Commission without any correspondence .

NOTE-I: AUDITORS AND ACCOUNTANTS IN THE OFFICES OF INDIAN AUDIT AND ACCOUNTS DEPARTMENTS UNDER C&AG OF INDIA, SPECIAL RECUITMENT EXAMINATION,2009, should be superscribed on the envelope containing the application and the name of the Centre from where the candidate intends to appear should be written in capital letters at left hand side corner.

NOTE-II: SC/ST/PH/Ex-S/OBC candidates should also superscribe their category on the envelope.

Examination Pattern:

The written examination carrying 300 marks will consist of two papers. The Papers will consist of Objective Type- Multiple choice  questions only. The question papers (Test Booklets) will be set, both in  English & Hindi. :

It would consist of two parts :

A) Part I             -         200 marks and
B) Part II           -          100 marks

A – Part I:

SYllabus:

PAPER I (OBJECTIVE TYPE- MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS )

Part (A) General Intelligence & Reasoning : Questions in this part will be on Analogies, similarities and differences, spatial visualization, spatial
orientation, problem solving analysis, judgement, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning, verbal and figure classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding and decoding, statement conclusion, syllogistic reasoning etc.
Part (B) General Knowledge & General Awareness : Questions in this part of the paper will be aimed at testing the candidates for general awareness of the
environment around him/her and its application to society. Questions will also be designed to test knowledge of current events and of such matters of every
day observations and experience in their scientific aspect as may be expected of educated person. The test will also include questions relating to India and its
neighbouring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, Sports, Scientific Research etc. These Questions will be such that they do not require a special study of any discipline.
Part (C) General English & Comprehension : Questions in this part of the paper will be designed to test candidate’s understanding and knowledge of English Language and will be based on error recognition, fill in the blanks (using verbs, preposition, articles etc), Vocabulary, Spellings, Grammar, Sentence Structure, Synonyms, Antonyms, Sentence Completion, Phrases and Idiomatic use of Words, etc. There may be questions on comprehension of given passages. The standard of the questions will be of 10+2 level only.

Paper-II (OBJECTIVE TYPE- MULTIPLE CHOICE QUESTIONS)

Arithmetic & Numerical Ability:
This paper will include questions involving Number Systems, Computation of Whole Numbers, Decimals and Fractions and relationship between Numbers,
Fundamental arithmetical operations, Percentages, Ratio and Proportion, Averages, Interest, Profit and Loss, Discount, use of Tables and Graphs, Mensuration, Time and Distance, Time and Work, etc.

Selection Procedure:

Merit list for selection of Candidates will be drawn on the basis of
aggregate marks of both the papers.
